If you file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, your case will be referred to a panel of Bankruptcy Trustees, and one of the Trustees from the panel will be assigned to your case. Once on a case, the Trustee will be responsible for that case until the case is over, the Trustee files a final report, and the judge releases him or her from the case. Some of the trustees have their own bankruptcy practices and can even file cases for other debtors, but they cannot hear their own cases.
If you file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy in Bergen County, your case is assigned the the Bankruptcy Trustee for the Newark vicinage. There only one trustee - her name is Marie-Ann Greenberg. She or one of the assistants from her office will conduct your meeting of creditors.
